The second drawback is that the loss is obvious because of obstacle. So if we want to improve the QoS of WMN, we should solve these two problems first.
At the other hand, from description from Apple Developer Conference, the Jobs faced some problems when he present a new feature of iPhone 4 through his laptop which accessed to server by the AP in this conference room. The reason is that, there are so many mobile stations accessed to this AP simultaneously. This same fault is reported in other place for many times. So the solution to conquer this problem is worthy to research. I think the best solution is to increase the bandwidth of WiFi. But congestion is not the normal status of WiFi networks. So the more efficient solution is to handle the congestion by QoS without increasing the bandwidth by investing equipment.
Another interesting news is that, AT&T announced the feasibility of his data plan. At another words, you can change your data plan from unlimited $30 to 200M $15 or 2G $25. I will transfer my unlimited data plan to 200M plan and decrease my 3G access time. This will ease AT&T's 3G network through pricing solution. But it is not the final solution for the blast of data demand. We need a free and ubiquitous wireless access network to improve quality of our life. Beside the investment of 4G network, we can consider many other complementary access technologies such as WiMAX, WiFi. Because 4G/WiMAX are focusing on the coverage of wireless network, and this is their advantage. In the other side, WiFi's feature is his high bandwidth and lower cost(because of popular). So we can invest more Wire Mesh Network in some hot region based on the coverage of 4G/WiMAX.
